Friday, 26 January 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the five-member expert committee on Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has completed its work . He informed that a session of the Vidhan Sabha will be convened when the State government receives the report and the UCC  will be implemented in the State. The statement of the CM made on the eve of Republic Day assumes significance because the extended tenure of the expert committee headed by justice (retd) Ranajana Prakash Desai is ending on January 26. The assertion of the CM that the UCC will be implemented in Uttarakhand soon signifies that the State is on its way to become the only State in the country apart from Goa to have UCC.Congratulating the people of the State, the CM said that the Republic Day reminds us about the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. Dhami said that the State government is working on the principle of Antyodaya for the development and welfare of the people standing on the last rung of the social ladder. He said that the State government has followed the policy of zero tolerance on corruption to implement a strict anti-copying law against copying and examination malpractices. The CM said that the State government is working dedicatedly in every field to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make Uttarakhand one of the leading States of the country by the year 2025. The CM averred that agreements worth Rs 3.65 lakh crore were inked during the  recent Global Investors Summit and that  efforts are on in full swing to bring all the agreements on the ground. The CM said that work on Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission is going on to develop the temples of Kumaon region on the lines of Char Dham Yatra. He said that the State government has provided 30 per cent reservation to the women of the State in the government jobs. Similarly Lakhpati Didi Yojana has been launched for women empowerment in which 1.25 women will be enabled to become lakhpati didis.
