
Pitches for approval to Pithoragarh & Rudrapur medical colleges in meeting with Nadda PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Health minister JP Nadda and Jal Shakti minister CR Patil in New Delhi on Tuesday. In his meeting with Nadda, the CM requested for expansion of air ambulance service operated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and said that an additional helicopter should be provided for emergency services in the mountainous and inaccessible areas of the State. He also requested that the Central contribution per family under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme should be increased from Rs 1,052 to Rs 1,500. The CM thanked the Union minister for the contribution of AIIMS specialists in the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and including travel duty in the post graduate doctors’ residency (DRP). The CM said that the construction work of two new medical colleges in Uttarakhand is going on at a war footing. He said that the upcoming Jagjivan Ram Medical College in Pithoragarh and Pandit Ram Sumer Shukla Medical College in Rudrapur will apply to the National Medical Commission/Government of India to start teaching work from the academic year 2026-27. Dhami requested Nadda for clearing necessary approval for these two medical colleges and also sought necessary permission for the proposed Tehri Medical College which is being constructed in collaboration with the THDC India Limited. The CM also requested for immediate assistance for setting up and smooth functioning of a state-of-the-art trauma centre at Srinagar Medical College. He said this initiative is not only important for the local population but would also prove to be a lifesaver for pilgrims and tourists on the Char Dham Yatra routes and the surrounding mountainous areas. In his meeting with Union minister CR Patil, the CM said that the expert committee constituted on the orders of Supreme Court for giving an impetus to the social and economic growth of the country has approved five out of 21 hydro power projects in the State. He requested the minister for implementation of these projects. Dhami pays courtesy visit to LS speaker Birla PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla in New Delhi on Tuesday. Dhami handed over the Prasad of the Char Dham to Birla and also presented local products of the State to him. He informed the speaker about the development works being undertaken in the State and efforts being in the field of religious tourism, health and local products.
