
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects under the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) in Kedarpuram, including a yoga park on Wednesday. He also launched the AI chatbot ‘Nigam Sarathi’ and unveiled the Green Policy document. Addressing the crowd, Dhami said that the yoga park will serve as a centre for health, fitness and social activities and reiterated the State government’s goal of making Uttarakhand a global hub for yoga and spirituality. He said that projects worth about Rs 1,400 crore are underway to develop Dehradun into a modern city. The projects included the foundation stone for Gandhi Park development and beautification costing Rs 164.33 lakh and renovation of the MCD’s Town Hall costing Rs 232.50 lakh. Inaugurated works included a park in Yamuna Colony built at a cost of Rs 139.49 lakh, fish pond maintenance and walking track construction in Harbajwala costing Rs170.32 lakh and yoga park development along with other works in Defence Colony Kedarpuram costing Rs 437.07 lakh. The programme was attended by Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, municipal commissioner Namami Bansal, Rajya Sabha MP Kalpana Saini, MLA’s Umesh Sharma Kau and Savita Kapoor among others. Saini also announced one month’s salary and Rs one crore from her MP fund for relief and rehabilitation work in Uttarkashi’s Dharali.
