PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Jyotirmath Several vehicles and houses got buried in debris after a rain-fed stream following cloudburst started overflowing and gushed into Toonri Gadera area under Tharali tehsil, submerging Tharali’s tehsil complex at Radibag. The SDM’s residence faced the same fate though the SDM and others had left the complex for a secure place. A number of vehicles and shops in Tharali market were swept away. Upon receiving the news, NDRF, SDRF and ITBP teams from Gauchar and SSB team from Gwaldam rushed to the disaster-hit place and started rescue and relief operations. According to them, the Tharali-Sagwara road got blocked while the Tharali- Gwaldam road was closed at Minggadera. Two persons, including a woman, are feared to have died being buried under the heavy pile of debris in Sagwara village. Meanwhile, holiday has been declared in all the schools located in three development blocks -Tharali, Dewal and Narayanbagh- due to heavy rains.
