
PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Following the order of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the department of Personnel and Vigilance released the notification of the rules for granting benefit of 10 per cent horizontal reservation for the retired Agniveers in some group C posts of Uttarakhand government on Monday. The Uttarakhand horizontal reservation for ex-Agniveers for employment on the uniformed posts of direct recruitment of group C in the service under the State rules- 2025 paves the way for reservation for the former Agniveers on some group C posts. These posts are police constable (civil and PAC), sub inspector civil police, platoon commander (PAC), firemen, fire station second officer, jail warden, deputy jailer, forest guard, forester, excise constable, enforcement soldier and secretariat guard. The former Agniveers who are natives of the State and have retired from Indian armed forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) will be eligible for the benefit of reservation in the above mentioned posts. The notification of the department follows the recent decision of the State cabinet for granting benefit of reservation to the retired Agniveers in government jobs. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the former Agniveers are the pride of the State and it is the responsibility of the State government to provide them respect and employment opportunities. He said that the decision of granting 10 per cent reservation to the former Agniveers is a firm step in the direction of safeguarding their future. Dhami said that the State government is making every possible effort to provide jobs to the ex-servicemen and former Agniveers.
