
PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an aerial survey of the disaster affected areas of Uttarakhand either on September 11 and 12, depending on the weather conditions. The tentative programme of the PM has been sent by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to the Uttarakhand government. The chief secretary Anand Bardhan took a meeting with the senior officers of the State administration on the preparation for the visit of the PM on Monday. Though the PMO has sent two tentative dates for the visit of the PM, it is expected that he will conduct an aerial survey of disaster affected Dharali in Uttarkashi district and Tharali in Chamoli district on September 11 since the State Meteorological Centre has predicted inclement weather on September 12. During his visit, the PM will also hold a meeting with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, cabinet ministers and the senior officers of the State administration at Dehradun airport Jollygrant. In the meeting, the State administration will give a presentation to the PM on the damage incurred by the State by the recent incidents of disaster triggered by heavy rains in different parts of the State. It is expected that the CM Dhami will request the PM for the relief package which will help in rebuilding the infrastructure damaged by the incessant rains in the State. The State government had recently sought a sum of Rs 5,700 crore as compensation to the damage caused by the recent disasters.
