Dehradun, 8 Oct: Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and MLA from Kotdwar, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan attended the prize distribution ceremony of the 44th North Zone Pistol Shooting Championship – 2025 as the Chief Guest at the Trishul Shooting Range, Maharana Pratap Sports College, here, today.
On this occasion, the Speaker presented medals and certificates to the winning players and extended her best wishes for their bright future. Addressing the participants, she said, “A precision-based and focused sport like shooting teaches us patience, discipline, and self-confidence. The dedication and spirit displayed by the youth in this championship will undoubtedly give a new direction to the future of sports in North India.”
The Speaker appreciated the efforts of the organisers, coaches, technical officials, and sports enthusiasts, stating that such events strengthen the sports culture in the state and inspire young athletes to excel at national and international levels.
Organising Secretary Subhash Agrawal reported that hundreds of shooters from various northern states of India participated in this championship. He said that the presence of the Speaker greatly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the participants.
The championship is being organised by the Uttarakhand State Shooting Association from 4 to 17 October.
