
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reiterated that there is no room for any irregularity or corruption in the process of recruitment in Uttarakhand. He was addressing a programme organised at his camp office to distribute appointment letters to the newly recruited reviewing officers and assistant reviewing officers of the State Revenue council on Saturday. The CM said that in recent years all competitive examinations in the State have been conducted with complete transparency and fairness. He said that after assuming the charge of the CM, he has initiated a campaign to fill vacant positions through a transparent recruitment process, resulting in thousands of young people gaining opportunities in government service. He averred that the government will continue this campaign with complete transparency. Referring to the recent Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) examination, the CM said after an incident related to the examination held in Haridwar came to light, swift action was taken and the accused was arrested. “Considering the sentiments of the students, I personally met them and as per their demand cancelled the examination and has recommended a CBI investigation,’’ he said. The CM said that more than 26,500 youngsters have been given government jobs in the State in the last four years. Dhami said that the objective of the government is to proceed the recruitment process in the State with transparency and merit. Extending his greetings to the newly appointed employees, he said that receiving the appointment letters before Deepawali is a special occasion of joy for them and their families. He urged the newly recruited officers to consider government service as a means of public service. “You should practice complete dedication, honesty and transparency in their work. It is essential to simplify and expedite work so that the public receives quick and easy services,’’ he said. Chief secretary Anand Bardhan, secretary SN Pandey, additional secretary Ranjana Rajguru, officers of the State Revenue Council and others attended the programme.
