Dehradun, 2 Nov: On the auspicious occasion of Igas Parv, the muhurat of the upcoming film, “Fyonli… Parvat Ki Beti”, being produced under the banner of Himalayan Films, was held on Saturday at Lekhak Gaon in Doon.
The ceremony was inaugurated by former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Nodal Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, Nitin Upadhyay, who jointly performed the clap and coconut-breaking ritual to mark the beginning of the shoot.
Extending his best wishes to the entire film team, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the film — written and directed by Manoj Ishtwal — is based on the inspiring journey of a young girl from the hill regions who, despite numerous challenges, rises to fulfill her dreams through education and determination. He stated that the Government of Uttarakhand has created a strong platform to promote films made not only in regional languages but also in Hindi and other national languages, thereby generating employment opportunities within the state. “We must appreciate and support filmmakers who are working on meaningful and socially relevant scripts,” he added.
Nitin Upadhyay, Nodal Officer of the Uttarakhand Film Development Council, said that the state government is providing appropriate subsidies and incentives for films made in both regional and national languages. “Our goal is to promote the beautiful valleys and landscapes of Uttarakhand as world-class filming destinations while giving local artists greater opportunities,” he said. He emphasised that with good scripts, skilled direction, and the effective use of modern technology, filmmakers can offer audiences quality and wholesome entertainment. Commenting on Manoj Ishtwal’s script, he said, “This film aligns with the spirit of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign and is expected to deliver a positive social message upon completion.”
Following the muhurat shot, several scenes were filmed at the Nalanda Library Research and Study Centre in Lekhak Gaon. A 27-member production team was present during the shoot.
The film, produced under the banner of Himalayan Films (Himalayan Discover Foundation), is produced by Rajat Dabral and Srishti Dabral, with Manoj Ishtwal as the writer and director. The film’s key team members include Associate Director Harish Sanwal, Assistant Director Dr Mohan Bhulani, Production Manager Sunil Gupta, Production Controllers Indra Singh Negi and SP Sharma, Financial Advisor Ajit Pathania, Media Advisor Ajit Negi, and Office Consultant Rahul Vashisth.
The lead roles in the film are being played by Mansi Sharma, Kiran Dimri Kittu, Reena Chauhan, Manoj Ishtwal, and Shashimohan Rawat, among others. Cinematography is being handled by Govind Negi and Chandrashekhar Chauhan.
The film “Fyonli… Parvat Ki Beti” aims to portray the struggles and aspirations of a daughter of the mountains, highlighting themes of women’s empowerment, education, and resilience, while showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Uttarakhand.
