

Awareness Seminar on “Meri Yojana” held at SGRR University

DEHRADUN, 7 Nov: As part of Uttarakhand State Foundation celebrations, a special program was organised on Friday at Shri Guru Ram Rai University, here. The Programme Implementation Department, Government of Uttarakhand held an awareness seminar on the “Meri Yojana” book series. The objective of the seminar was to inform students and citizens about various welfare schemes of the State and Central Governments.
The event commenced in the university auditorium with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Vinod Chamoli (MLA, Dharampur); Dr. Prathappan K. Pillai, Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge), SGRR University; Deepak Kumar Gairola, Secretary, Programme Implementation Department; Virendra Dutt Semwal, Vice-President, Handloom and Handicraft Development Council; Madhu Bhatt, Vice-President, Culture, Literature & Arts Council; and Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson, State Women’s Commission.
It is worth noting that the Programme Implementation Department published the first edition of the “Meri Yojana” book in 2023. The second edition, “Meri Yojana – State Government”, was released in 2024, followed by the “Meri Yojana – Central Government” edition in 2025, which were unveiled by the Chief Minister and Governor respectively. So far, 8,500 and 9,025 copies of these books have been distributed to district officials, panchayat representatives, MLAs, ministers, and department heads.
Chief Guest Vinod Chamoli stated, “Each district of Uttarakhand holds immense potential. The youth should understand the state’s journey of struggle and development and ensure their contribution to it. The government is running several schemes for the youth, and the ‘Meri Yojana’ book is a comprehensive compilation of these schemes, from which they can greatly benefit.”
The program also featured addresses by Dr. Lokesh Gambhir (Registrar, SGRR University), Ranjana (Review Officer, Programme Implementation Department), J.P. Maikhuri, Dr. Malvika Kandpal, and Dr. Sonia Gambhir.
Over 300 postgraduate students along with departmental officials and university staff attended the event. The program concluded with expressions of patriotism and pride in Uttarakhand’s heritage.
