The CM said this while meeting the saints from all 13 Akhadas on the banks of river Ganga here on Friday to prepare for the Kumbh 2027. He said that the Maha Kumbh held in Haridwar in 2021 was only held for a short period due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even the Shahi Snans were performed symbolically. However, the Haridwar Kumbh to be held in 2027 will be historic and of special significance in many respects, he said. After holding discussions with the saints, Dhami announced important dates for Snans of the Kumbh. In the meeting, the CM sought suggestions and guidance from the Acharyas of the Akhadas for the successful organisation of the Kumbh. He said that the traditions, needs and facilities of the saints will be given top priority in all decisions related to the Kumbh. He said that he is fortunate to receive the blessings and guidance of the saints for a well-organised and grand Kumbh. Dhami averred that without the inspiration, suggestions and blessings of the saints, the organisation of the grand event is impossible. “Our effort is to make the preparations for Kumbh 2027 more comprehensive, well-organised and in accordance with the expectations of the saint community with the help of everyone’s invaluable suggestions,’’ he said. Dhami said that the number of devotees coming this year is expected to be many times more than the Kumbhs of 2010 and 2021. He added that full coordination has been established with State and central security agencies for the safety of devotees and saints during Kumbh. The CM said that all concerned departments, including the Police, NDRF, PAC, Health and Fire departments, will ensure all possible security measures, keeping every aspect in mind. “The full cooperation of officials who successfully conducted the previous Kumbh Melas will also be sought, so that every process can be conducted smoothly and systematically.Special teams will be formed for the cleanliness of the city and ghat areas, with special attention given to waste management, drainage, and environmental protection,’’ he said.
