Dehradun, 3 Dec: On the second day of the 10th Uttarakhand Uday National Theatre Festival Jashn-e-Virāsat, jointly organised by Vardan Sanstha and Tasveer Art Group, street plays were staged at two locations to raise awareness about cyber security. Performances held at Spring Hills School, Ajabpur, and the Trishakti Campus of Doon Defence Academy on Sahastradhara Road, highlighted that awareness is the most powerful tool to fight cybercrime.
On Wednesday, the event at Spring Hills School, Ajabpur, was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Harichand Singh Rana, Chief Engineer of MDDA, along with School Chairman Bhupendra Farasi and social worker Mahesh Joshi, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by a powerful theatrical performance by artists from Rahul Khanna’s Education Through Theatre Group, New Delhi. Through the play, students and teachers were educated about various forms of cyber fraud.

The artists explained that cyber fraud takes many forms—deepfake, digital arrest, fake calling, spamming, among others—and a large number of people are falling victim to these traps.
Chief Guest Harichand Singh Rana said that although they read, watch, and hear about cyber fraud cases every day, people continue to be deceived because of lack of awareness. He added that nothing ever truly disappears from the cyber world, making awareness even more crucial.
Later in the afternoon, the festival continued at the Trishakti Campus of Doon Defence Academy on Sahastradhara Road, where the programme was jointly inaugurated by Director Divya Aswal Gupta and educationist Dr Sunil Agarwal. Through their performance, the artists emphasised that cybercrime has become a major global threat. They highlighted how young people, through social media, often get trapped in situations that are extremely difficult to escape.
Conducting the event, Vardan Sanstha Secretary Anil Chandola shared that during the five-day festival, the organisation is staging plays at different locations to raise awareness among students, teachers, and the general public.
Rajendra Prasad Sati, Narendra Rawthaan, Pooja Chauhan, Manoj Dasouni, Sanjay Mewad, Nitesh Kumar, Ashish Mishra, and several others contributed to the successful organisation of the event.
