Dehradun, 5 Dec: Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhawan, here, today. During the courtesy meeting, several important issues related to security and the police administration in the state were discussed.
The Governor reviewed the security preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela–2027. He said that ensuring the safety of devotees is the topmost priority. He emphasised strengthening police arrangements, traffic management, disaster response, and the use of modern technology.
Regarding the winter Char Dham Yatra, the Governor said that considering the challenging weather and mountainous conditions, the safety of pilgrims should be given utmost priority.
The Governor stated that it is essential to make senior citizens aware of cybercrimes. He stressed the need for conducting cyber-security awareness campaigns on a wider scale. During the meeting, he also emphasised the implementation of the new criminal laws and highlighted the importance of training police officers and creating awareness among citizens to ensure effective enforcement.
