
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has averred that Uttarakhand has to its credit many firsts in the country such as implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and enactment of a strict anti-copying act in the State. He was addressing a group of 240 meritorious students of class X examination- 2025 of Uttarakhand board selected for the Bharat Darshan Education Tour at State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Nanoorkheda here on Monday. He said that the education tour programme is an opportunity for the student to witness and understand India’s progress, science, technology, history and culture. The CM asked the students to document their travel experiences in their diaries, as well as to document innovations and achievements that have taken place in Uttarakhand for the first time. Citing examples of UCC and anti-copying law enacted and implemented by the State, the CM said that for the first time Uttarakhand has been ranked first in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by the NITI Aayog. Similarly, Uttarakhand’s tableau ranked first in the Republic Day parade 2023 parade. He added that 27,000 youth in the State have been provided government jobs in the last four years and the State hosted the National Games for the first time. Similarly action against corruption was taken on a large scale and for the first time 10,000 acres of land was freed from encroachment. The Madrasa Board was abolished and Uttarakhand received the Most Film-Friendly State award for the first time. The students will visit institutions such as ISRO, Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Professor UR Rao Satellite Centre and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in the tour. Dhami said that a major benefit of this trip will be that the students will develop teamwork, social skills and self-confidence. They will cherish the experiences gained from this trip for a lifetime and, as brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand, will share the specialties of our culture, nature, food, and tourism in different parts of the country. Speaking on the occasion, the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said on the occasion of the composition of 150 years of Vande Mataram, about 21 lakh students of 23,000 schools created a record by singing the national song on November 26, the Constitution Day. Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, secretary Ravinath Raman, additional secretary Ranjana Rajguru, director general Education Deepti Singh and other officials attended the programme.
