
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun The union government has released a sum of Rs 249.56 crore for Uttarakhand under its Special Capital Investment Assistance Scheme 2025-26. The amount has been released by the expenditure department of the ministry of Finance of government of India. This is the second instalment released by the ministry for the current financial year. The union government has so far approved a financial assistance of Rs 847.49 crore under special assistance in the year 2025-26. The financial assistance will help in providing a new impetus to different development schemes and projects for strengthening balanced and inclusive development of the State. Expressing gratitude to the union government, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the financial assistance will help in strengthening the basic infrastructure in the State and assist in creating new employment opportunities in the State. He said that this assistance will prove to be an important step in the direction of economic empowerment of Uttarakhand. He said that the assistance will be used in infrastructural works such as construction of roads, bridges, rural infrastructure, drinking water, power and other activities. The CM averred that all these works will be completed in a transparent, effective and time bound manner. He said that the government will ensure that all the projects comply with the quality norms and there is no delay in their implementation. The CM said that the State government is working for all round development of the State in coordination with the Union government.
