

my uttarakhand news BureauDehradun, 17 Dec: Strengthening health services in Udham Singh Nagar district, the State Government has upgraded the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Shaktifarm, to a Community Health Centre (CHC). A government order in this regard has been issued at the administrative level. Along with this, a total of 32 posts across various cadres—including specialist doctors, medical officers, paramedical staff, and administrative personnel—have been sanctioned in accordance with IPHS norms for the operation of the Community Health Centre.
With the upgradation of PHC Shaktifarm to a CHC, local residents will now have access to improved medical treatment at the local level.
In a statement issued to the media, officials of the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department said that the State Government is committed to the health and well-being of the people. The government is continuously working towards strengthening and expanding health services across the state. In this series, the Primary Health Centre Shaktifarm (Type-A) in Udham Singh Nagar district has been upgraded to a 30-bedded Community Health Centre, and the necessary government orders have been issued.
Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat stated that for the 30-bedded Community Health Centre, a total of 32 posts have been created in accordance with IPHS norms for the deployment of specialist doctors, medical officers, nursing staff, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other medical personnel. Of these, 20 posts are regular and 12 are on an outsourced basis.
He further stated that the newly created posts include one post each of Medical Superintendent, Public Health Specialist, General Surgeon, Physician, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Anaesthetist, and Dental Surgeon. Additionally, one previously sanctioned post of Medical Officer at the PHC has been adjusted in the upgraded CHC. Apart from this, 8 posts have been created under the paramedical cadre, 3 under the administrative cadre, and 12 posts on an outsourced basis.
Dr Rawat also stated that departmental officials have been instructed to ensure the availability of necessary medical equipment as per IPHS norms and to complete infrastructural works within the stipulated timeframe at the upgraded health facility. He emphasised that with the upgradation of the hospital at Shaktifarm, local residents will receive better healthcare facilities and will get relief from expensive treatments at private hospitals.
