Dehradun, 25 Dec: State Media In-charge of the BJP Manveer Singh Chauhan today alleged that the manner in which former Chief Minister Harish Rawat has marched towards the BJP headquarters over a viral video is not only a sign of distrust in the law but also politically motivated. He pointed out that Rawat had submitted a police complaint against the BJP just a day earlier, expressing faith in the legal system. Yet, he chose to storm the party headquarters the very next day. Chauhan asserted that this is not a coincidence but a calculated strategy.
Chauhan claimed that the intentions of the Congress are evident from the fact that while Rawat set out for a protest portraying himself as a victim, his supporters have been raising slogans in support of another AI-generated video. Chauhan said such double standards are unacceptable. The Congress creates a ruckus on the streets regarding its own case while simultaneously targeting the BJP over a video of a similar nature. He clarified that the BJP had already made it clear that the video was neither created nor had been originally broadcast by the party. He added that if the Congress removed the kind of videos it was circulating against the BJP from its pages, the BJP would also do the same. However, he maintained that the BJP has nothing to do with the specific video Rawat is referring to.
According to Chauhan, Rawat is attacking the BJP because he is perceiving the ruling party as an obstacle in his policy of appeasement. He said that the BJP would respond legally to the complaint lodged with the police. He further added that while the BJP is ideologically opposed to the Congress, any opposition must be conducted within democratic boundaries.
