Pipalkoti (Chamoli), 26 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 24th Bund Development Industrial, Tourism, Farmer, and Cultural Fair at Semaldala Pipalkoti here today. During the event, he announced that the Semaldala sports ground will be expanded and that several infrastructure projects will be undertaken, including the beautification of the Rajarajeshwari Temple in Kurud and the construction of a passenger rest house at the Anasuya Devi Temple in Mandal.
The CM also announced that the Lord Curzon Trail from Gwaldam to Tapovan will be renamed as Nanda-Sunanda Marg. Addressing the gathering on this occasion, he also observed that such fairs provide a vital platform for local products and offer a vibrant glimpse into folk culture. He noted that all the mementoes and the gifts presented by the state government are now being prepared by women from local self-help groups, thereby strengthening rural livelihoods. Under the “’Jan Jan Ki Sarkaar: Jan Jan Ke Dwaar (Government at Everyone’s Doorstep)’ programme, he called for the resolution of the people’s issues at every Nyaya Panchayat level and he also appealed for active public participation. Expressing his gratitude to local residents, traders, farmers, and fair organisers, the CM reiterated the state government’s commitment to advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives of ‘One District One Festival,’ ‘Vocal for Local,’ and ‘Made in India’.
Dhami noted that new opportunities for development and employment are being created within the state. Work is progressing rapidly under the Master Plan in the precincts of Kedarnath and Badrinath, while ropeway construction and the railway projects are set to provide fresh momentum to tourism and the economy in the state. He added that local products and tourism are being promoted through schemes such as ‘One District Two Products,’ the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand, the State Millet Mission, and the homestay scheme. Currently, over 800 homestays are operational and Uttarakhand is rapidly emerging as a premier wedding destination.
Emphasising that the government is ensuring the benefits of various schemes reach the last person in line through the principle of Antyodaya, the CM asserted total commitment to protecting the heritage and culture of Devbhoomi. He reminded that over 10,000 acres of land have been cleared of encroachments and a strict land law has been implemented in the state. He asserted that the government is working continuously to establish Uttarakhand as a hub for knowledge, education, culture and development.
During the proceedings, Dhami also officially announced the expansion of the Semaldala sports ground, the development of basic infrastructure including drinking water facilities along the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra route, the renaming of the Lord Curzon Trail to Nanda-Sunanda Marg and the beautification of Rajarajeshwari Temple Kurud along with the construction of a rest house at Anasuya Devi Temple.
Among those present on the occasion were Tharali MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, District Panchayat President Daulat Singh Bisht, BJP District President Gajpal Bartwal, District Panchayat Vice President Laxman Khatri, BKTC Vice President Rishi Prasad Sati, former Cabinet Minister Rajendra Bhandari, DM, Chamoli, Gaurav Kumar and SP Surjeet Singh Panwar.
