Dehradun, 30 Dec: Students who scored the highest marks in their respective classes at the Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University were awarded the Sushila Devi Memorial Scholarship, here, today. Anuradha Joshi, Vice-President of the University Governing Council, was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. She presented the students with scholarship cheques and certificates of honour.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajesh Bahuguna stated that the university awards a scholarship of Rs 120,000 and a certificate of honour to students who score the highest marks in their respective classes. This year, 11 of the 14 students receiving this honour were girls. Palak Gupta, with the highest CGPA of 10, topped the list of winners.
Palak Gupta, Shivanshi Pandey, Deepa Kumari, Aarju, Shruti Thakur, Aradhya Maheshwari, Anushka Garg, Shreya Bhatia, Tanvi Jindal, Palak Singh, Brighty Pebam, Samarth Garg, Ashwati Shah and Ashish Rawat were the recipients of the scholarships.
In her address, Anuradha Joshi said that over the past years, girls have not only become more interested in legal education, but they are also leading in most classes. Scholarships are not only financial assistance to any student, but also a great way to encourage them. She congratulated the students and wished them a bright future.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Prof Radhey Shyam Jha, Dr Kuljit Singh, Dr Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, Dr V Bhuvaneshwari, Dr Ujjwal Singh, Nandini Majumdar, Amit Chaudhary, Amber Srivastava, Dr Hadiya Khan, Jagat Narayan, Dr Ratnesh Kumar Srivastava, Garima Chuphal, Dr Prerna Kainthola and a large number of students.
