Dehradun, 1 Jan: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the New Year. During a programme organised within the Secretariat complex today, the Chief Secretary conveyed his best wishes to the officials posted in the Secretariat and to all the residents of the state. Bardhan wished to all a life filled with happiness, prosperity, joy and contentment.
Addressing the officers and employees gathered at the Secretariat, Chief Secretary stated that the Secretariat is the supreme institution of the state. He emphasised that as members of this institution, it is their collective responsibility to ensure that all the policies and the significant decisions of the state emanate from here. He further remarked that it is the duty of every official to maintain the dignity of this institution and to ensure its objectives are fully realised.
On this New Year, Bardhan urged everyone to take a pledge to uphold the dignity and status of the Secretariat so that it serves as an inspiration not only for Uttarakhand but for other states across the country as well. He added that to serve the state and its people effectively and to resolve their grievances, the administration must adopt a ‘Whole of Government’ approach, working as a single entity to share in the joys and sorrows of the citizens.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional Secretary Navneet Pandey, office bearers of the Secretariat Association and various other officers and staff members of the Secretariat.
