Dehradun, 2 Jan: Under the leadership of Bhagwat Prasad Makwana, National Executive Member, former National Vice President of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, Uttarakhand, hundreds of workers of the morcha gathered at the BJP Metropolitan Office, here, today. They were protesting against the alleged continuous misinformation campaign being carried out by the Congress against senior BJP leaders. They marched to Lansdowne Chowk and burned an effigy of the Congress party, raising strong slogans against it.
Makwana said that disturbed by the historic works being carried out for the all-round development of Uttarakhand by the Modi-led Central Government and the successful government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Congress is resorting to misleading tactics. Using certain individuals as cover, Congress is attempting to tarnish the image of senior BJP leaders by unnecessarily dragging their names—without any evidence—into the Ankita murder case. Those targeted include BJP’s national Dalit leader Dushyant Gautam (National General Secretary and Uttarakhand In-charge), BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, and State General Secretary (Organisation) Ajaey Kumar, under whose leadership the BJP is continuously growing stronger.
The BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha strongly condemns this act, he declared.
Makwana further stated that those who are spreading sensationalism by circulating audio conversations between two individuals in video form should present their evidence before the SIT and the police if their claims have any substance. Attempts to create a “hit-and-run”–like situation to mislead the people of the state and malign the image of senior BJP leaders will not succeed. In the audio, the leader who mentions a “VIP” later himself held a press conference and claimed that the audio was fabricated by using AI. Therefore, a forensic investigation of the audio and video is essential.
He added that the long-standing dispute between Dushyant Gautam and Suresh Rathore regarding the Sant Shiromani Ravidas Vishva Mahapeeth is well known. However, the manner in which Congress is politicising the Ankita murder case is inappropriate. Keeping the 2027 Assembly elections in mind, such low-level politics will not benefit Congress, because truth always prevails.
Makwana emphasised that the Dhami government ensured prompt and effective action in the Ankita murder case, resulting in the main accused being awarded life imprisonment by the Court within a short period. Even now, if anyone else is guilty, whoever possesses evidence should present it to the SIT or the police. The law will take its course—no matter how influential the offender may be, the law is equal for all. The BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha strongly condemned those “attempting to disturb the atmosphere of Uttarakhand by creating sensationalism and chaos”.
Those present during the effigy-burning protest included Bhagwat Prasad Makwana (National Executive Member and former National Vice President, BJP SC Morcha), Surendra Ghel (Metropolitan President, BJP SC Morcha), Rajesh Rajoria (State Office In-charge, SC Morcha), Rajiv Rajori, Neetu Valmiki (former Councillor), Yogesh Ghaghat (Councillor), Madan Valmiki (former Metropolitan Vice President), Vishal Birla (senior BJP and labour leader), Vishal Anant (former Metropolitan Vice President, SC Morcha), Moti Ram (Co In-charge, BJP Office), Anika Chhetri (former Metropolitan Minister), Anita Valmiki, Krishna Chauhan, Gaurav Chauhan (former Metropolitan Minister), Manoj Khairwal (State Vice President, Valmiki Yuva Morcha), Ashok Kumar, Kamal Kanojia (former Metropolitan Secretary, SC Morcha), Daulat Makwana (State General Secretary, Valmiki Morcha), Bobby Kumar (District President, Valmiki Yuva Morcha), Rajendra Machal (Mandal President, SC Morcha), Anil Kumar (Mandal President, SC Morcha), Aman Kumar (former Mandal General Secretary), Gautam, Vinod Ghaghat (Media In-charge, Dalanwala Mandal BJP), Sunil Kumar Mehndi, Sanyam Kumar (IT Head, Metropolitan SC Morcha), Rajiv Chauhan (Metropolitan Treasurer, SC Morcha), Nikhil Parcha, Aryan, Anil Kumar, Satpal Jatav, Vikram Tok (Mandal Vice President, SC Morcha), Mohammad Shahid (State movement activist and former State Vice President, Minority Morcha), Rahul Valmiki, Sanjay Khare, Bablu, Shubham Rajoria, Vivek Birla, Mayank Mishra, along with hundreds of women and men workers.
