MUSSOORIE, 3 Jan: A tragic incident has come to light amidst the New Year celebrations in the hill tourist town of Mussoorie. A young man staying at the Zen Den homestay near Mussoorie Lake died under suspicious circumstances. The young man had come to Mussoorie with his friends to celebrate the New Year and his birthday.
According to the information received, on Saturday morning at around 11 am, a call was received through MDT 112 that a young man staying in room number 102 of the homestay had suddenly fallen ill and his body was stiff. Upon receiving the information, the in-charge of the Barlowganj police post, along with the Cheetah police force, immediately reached the spot. The medical team of the 108 ambulance, which was already present at the spot, examined the man and eclared him dead. The deceased has been identified as Harsh Vijora (approximately 23 years old), son of Vijendra Bijora, resident of H-16 Ashok Garden, Vardhman Green Park, Huzur, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).
Primary questioning revealed that Harsh had come to Mussoorie with his three friends on January 1. His friends included Vishal (22 years old), resident of Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Swati (25 years old), resident of Gittorni, New Delhi, and Bhavna Verma (23 years old), resident of Chhatarpur, New Delhi. Bhavna Verma’s birthday was on January 2. which all the friends celebrated together. After the birthday celebration, Harsh went to his room to sleep at around 11 pm. At around 10:30 am, when his friend Vishal went to wake Harsh up with breakfast, he found that Harsh’s body was extremely cold and he was not responding. The police were immediately informed by calling 112. The police started the necessary legal proceedings. The body has been sent for inquest and post-mortem. The family members have been informed of the incident. Police say the cause of death will only be revealed after the post-mortem report.
