PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again alleged that the opposition is indulging in irresponsible politics in the sensitive case of Ankita Bhandari murder to mar the atmosphere in the State. The BJP national joint treasurer and Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal reiterated that the State government is ready for any type of investigation in the case if it gets credible evidence. Citing the incident in which some of those rallying to protest in the case on Sunday in Dehradun tore down a poster with pictures of BJP leaders while allegedly misbehaving with the residents of the building on which the poster was displayed, Bansal said that the agitation being undertaken in the name of seeking justice could be taken over by anarchist political elements. Addressing the media at the BJP State office here on Monday, Bansal alleged that opposition party leaders and persons with political ambitions are indulging in irresponsible politics in the name of the murder case. The incidents which have taken so far show that an attempt is being made to spoil the atmosphere in the State, he said. “I will clarify once again that the BJP government is not avoid a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation or any other type of investigation. However, credible evidence and logical facts are needed or those levelling allegations should present themselves before the investigating agency. The questions being raised by the Congress and others have been deliberated upon in detail in the court, on the basis of which the guilty were sentenced to life imprisonment. Both the Uttarakhand High Court and the Supreme Court rejected petitions seeking a CBI probe in the case. Why are the same facts being raised now when the court has given its judgement after a detailed hearing and when an appeal is pending in the High Court? Even in this situation, if some person has credible evidence or useful information, he or she can approach the investigating agency or the court to present the same,” Bansal said.
