Dehradun, 5 Jan: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today participated as the Chief Guest in the Sixth Provincial Triennial Convention of the Retired State Pensioners’ Organisation, held at a private hotel in Dharampur, Dehradun. On this occasion, he formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. During the event, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also honoured senior members.
Addressing the convention, Joshi said that it is a matter of great happiness and pride that the Retired State Pensioners’ Organisation is completing 60 glorious years of its existence. He stated that the organisation’s Diamond Jubilee year symbolises that advancing age does not weaken resolve; rather, this wealth of experience makes the organisation even stronger. He added that retired state pensioners have also played an important role in the formation and development of the state.
Minister Ganesh Joshi said that retirement is not merely the end of service, but the beginning of new responsibilities toward society. This convention, he said, is not just a platform for mutual dialogue, but a proclamation of unity and organisational strength.
On this occasion, office bearers of the Retired State Pensioners’ Organisation raised demands for safeguarding the interests and dignity of pensioners in view of rising inflation. They submitted a 14-point memorandum to Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, which included demands such as addressing anomalies related to cashless medical facilities under the Golden Card and Ayushman schemes and making them more simple and accessible, giving priority to pensioners’ work in government offices, and utilising their long administrative experience in policy formulation.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi assured the organisation’s office bearers that all their demands would be conveyed to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and that serious efforts would be made at the state government level to resolve them.
Those present on the occasion included State President Virendra Singh Krishali, State Patron RS Parihar, State Treasurer MS Gusain, Vice Presidents Kusumlata Sharma, KD Sharma, Gulshan Kumar, Sardar Roshan Singh, Chandra Prakash, State Secretaries Jagdish Prasad Raturi and Mohan Singh Rawat, Hridyarām, along with many others.
