Dehradun, 7 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined a memorial service at the Harbans Kapoor Memorial Community Hall in Garhi Cantt today to commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of the late BJP leader, Harbans Kapoor. The CM offered floral tributes to the leader’s photograph and said Harbans Kapoor remained an enduring inspiration whose distinctive approach to work would light the path for generations ahead.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Dhami observed that Harbans Kapoor placed society’s and the public’s interests above everything else throughout his life. The CM also reminded how the late leader devoted himself wholly to his people’s welfare, with contributions to development that history would cherish. Recalling personal moments spent together, the Chief Minister portrayed him as an emblem of simplicity and empathy, who laboured relentlessly for every community’s progress while nurturing an optimistic vision for the state’s advancement.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi too paid rich tribute to Kapoor, hailing the late leader as a model mass leader who devoted every moment to public service. Joshi reminded that Kapoor had been his political guru, crediting his own career successes to the late leader’s profound guidance and backing. He stressed that Kapoor’s imprint on state development set a stellar standard for others to emulate. Among those present on the occasion were MLA, Dehradun Cantt, and widow of Harbans Kapoor, Savita Kapoor, and Shyam Aggarwal.
