Dehradun, 16 Jan: The Surveyor General of India, Hitesh Kumar S Makwana, paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhawan here on Friday. During the meeting, discussions were held on issues related to surveying, mapping, and geospatial technologies in the state.
The Governor stated that accurate mapping and modern geospatial technologies play a vital role in the state’s overall development, disaster management, infrastructure development, and environmental conservation. Keeping in view the unique geographical landscape of hill states, he appreciated the significant role of the Survey of India.
Surveyor General Makwana shared information about the various initiatives being undertaken by the Survey of India and the use of modern technologies. He also discussed future plans in coordination with the state government.
