Kashipur, 22 Jan: Secretary, Sanskrit Education, Census and Programme Department, Deepak Kumar, held a meeting with officials under the Government at the People’s Doorstep programme at Bhagaar Development Block, here, where he reviewed various government-run schemes.
While reviewing the Chief Minister’s announcements, Secretary Kumar directed officials to expedite the ongoing construction works under these announcements and ensure their early completion. He also instructed that detailed information regarding projects pending at the government level be prepared and submitted promptly so that issues can be resolved at the earliest. Reviewing the CM Helpline, he emphasised that all complaints received must be disposed of in a timely manner by the departments, and that officials should also communicate with complainants over the phone. He further stated that departments should plan and implement innovative initiatives so that maximum benefits reach the public. He directed the Municipal Commissioner of Kashipur to prepare an effective drainage plan and carry out drainage works to resolve the problem of waterlogging in the city.
During the meeting, Secretary Kumar instructed officials to work with coordination and sincerity to implement all important state government schemes at the ground level and ensure that benefits reach the last person standing at the end of the social spectrum. He laid special emphasis on rural-oriented schemes. He directed officials to visit villages under the Administration in the Village initiative and organise camps under the Government at the People’s Doorstep and Government of the People at the Doorstep of Every Citizen programmes, interact with the public, listen to their grievances, and ensure their resolution.
He stated that providing education, health services, drinking water, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, irrigation, roads, and social facilities to all citizens is the government’s priority. Therefore, officials must ensure awareness and access to benefits by widely publicising schemes and maintaining dialogue with the public and elected representatives. He emphasised that only by delivering basic facilities and the benefits of welfare schemes directly in villages can the government’s intent and the relevance of these schemes be realised. Keeping public welfare in mind, he instructed officials to implement schemes with mutual coordination and also issued directions to work on simplification and effective resolution.
Secretary Kumar directed the District Education Officer to ensure that all non-functional or damaged toilets in schools are repaired and made operational before March 8 (International Women’s Day). He also stated that everyone should read the government-published “Meri Yojana” booklet, which provides complete information about all departmental schemes and the process for availing their benefits. This booklet is available on the websites of all government departments.
Secretary Kumar conducted a detailed review of the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, matters registered on the CM Helpline, NRLM, NULM, the updated status of formed and functional Self-Help Groups and changes in their income, MNREGA, works being carried out under irrigation schemes, houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and household tap connections installed under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Nal), among other schemes.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Bisht, Tehsildar Pankaj Chandola, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr SK Dixit, Block Development Officer Kamal Kishore Pandey, District Education Officer Harendra Mishra, and officers from various departments.
