Haridwar, 22 Jan: Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital, promoted as the world’s first centre for integrated medicine blending Yoga, Ayurveda, and modern medical systems was inaugurated today by Union Home Minister Amit Shah here today. It is being claimed that the hospital would deliver world-class healthcare services to people across India. At the time of inauguration, Shah toured the emergency and critical care units and commended the effort to merge diverse medical traditions.
Yoga Guru Ramdev, Founder and President of Patanjali Yogpeeth, described the occasion as a proud milestone for the entire Patanjali family. He observed that the inaugural of history’s first integrated hospital had been graced by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, who he stated, is a steadfast proponent of national and Sanatan values, with a strong advocacy for Yoga and Ayurveda.
Ramdev shared that 90 to 99 per cent of patients at the hospital would receive treatment via Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Panchakarma, Shatkarma, Panch Mahabhuta therapy, medicated water and food, fasting, and prayer. He revealed that Patanjali is undertaking joint research with around 10 AIIMS institutions, including those in Rishikesh, Delhi, Guwahati, Jammu and Kashmir, and Bhopal. Moreover, Patanjali is partnering on global research with 25 leading medical institutions worldwide, spanning Australia, Europe, and America. He emphasised that Patanjali commands a comprehensive scientific framework for animal trials, human trials, and drug discovery, bolstered by real-world evidence from over 100 crore adherents of Yoga and Ayurveda.
The institution also holds clinical evidence encompassing 1.38 crore individuals through EMR data. Ramdev further claimed that Patanjali has curtailed reliance on synthetic drugs and insulin for ailments like BP, diabetes, and thyroid. He asserted success in reversing kidney and liver diseases, supported by robust scientific protocols and clinical data, including reversal of Fatty Liver Grades 1 to 4, Liver Cirrhosis, Hepatitis, and Liver Cancer. Although the hospital offers dialysis for kidney patients, the core focus remains on averting it through holistic approaches. He advocated Medha Vati and Memory Grit as preferences prior to brain surgery. This pioneering integrated hybrid hospital at Patanjali is slated for expansion from Delhi to nationwide and global locations.
Ramdev proclaimed that a new chapter in integrated holistic treatment dawns at Patanjali today, setting an innovative standard in medicine for generations to come. He articulated his vision of positioning India as the world’s premier health hub, where global visitors seek Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, and education, turning to India for leadership in health, medicine, and wholesome living.
The cutting-edge complex presently boasts 250 beds under the Patanjali Integrated Medicine System, complete with diagnostic amenities utilising all modern Allopathic equipment. Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, elaborated that the hospital will run 24-hour emergency and trauma services, encompassing a contemporary emergency department, emergency medicine unit, trauma care, high-end ICU with ventilator support, and critical care ambulance facilities.
This super-speciality hospital houses a Cardiology department fitted with a Cath Lab for coronary angiography, angioplasty, stent implantation, pacemaker, and ICD implants, complemented by ECG, Echo, Stress Echo, and TMT capabilities. The Neurosurgery department is geared for brain and spine procedures. The Orthopaedic department facilitates knee and hip joint replacements alongside fracture and trauma surgeries. The General Surgery department delivers laparoscopic interventions, gall bladder, appendix, liver and pancreas treatments, laser surgery, and diabetic foot care. The Gynaecology and Obstetrics department handles normal and C-section deliveries, as well as laparoscopic and open surgeries.
