Dehradun, 25 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami listened to the 130th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme at the Doon Library near Parade Ground, here, today. Extending greetings on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, the CM said that every episode of Mann Ki Baat is inspiring and highlights the contribution of people who continuously serve society even in ordinary circumstances. He said that the programme has enabled the country and the world to recognise such people and has been transformed by the PM into a platform of the common people, which in turn inspires others as well.
Dhami stated that under the leadership of PM Modi, several innovations are taking place across the country and that India is progressing rapidly in the fields of innovation, science, technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Speaking on the growing influence of artificial intelligence, he said that AI will play a crucial role in almost all sectors in the times to come, and tasks that earlier took several days will be completed within a few hours. He added that departments related to science, IT and technology in the state are actively working towards the adoption and use of AI.
The CM further noted that inspired by the PM’s leadership, the state government has taken several decisions that were implemented in the state for the first time. He added that Uttarakhand has now established an image across the country as a state where several historic decisions have been taken. He noted that on 27 January, one full year would be completed since the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
Dhami said that, before the 2022 Assembly elections, a commitment was made before the people of the state to implement the UCC under the leadership of the PM and that promise has been fulfilled. He stated that Uttarakhand is a border state and is home to the Char Dham as well as the origin of rivers Ganga and Yamuna, making it extremely sensitive from the security point of view. In such circumstances, he said, it was necessary to have a uniform law for all residents of the state, which the government has successfully implemented.
The CM also appealed to all sections of society to come forward and help in taking the public welfare schemes run by the Central and state governments, as well as key decisions taken at the state level, to the grassroots so that a larger number of people can benefit from them.
On the occasion, MLA Khazan Das, MLA Suresh Gadia, Chairman of the Media Advisory Committee Dr Govind Bisht, Anil Goyal, Sanjay Negi, Rajni Rawat and several others were among those present.
