Dehradun, 27 Jan: Doon International School commemorated the 77th Republic Day with great patriotic spirit and ceremonial dignity. The celebration witnessed the presence of Chairman DS Mann, Founder Principal MK Mann, the Principal, Vice Principal, faculty members, and students.
The Chief Guest, author & freelance writer Alok Joshi, attended the event along with his spouse and daughter and was welcomed with traditional honours. The programme began with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem, creating an atmosphere of pride and reverence.
The celebration featured heartfelt patriotic songs and thoughtful speeches delivered by DIS students, Akanksha Singh (Eng) and Ritisha Karanwal (Hindi) – reflecting their deep respect and love for the nation. A vibrant cultural presentation showcased India’s rich diversity and pluralistic heritage, adding colour and energy to the occasion.
In his address, Joshi spoke about the significance of constitutional values and emphasised the vital role of youth in nation-building. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and encouraged students to grow into responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to India’s progress as a leading global nation.
The programme concluded with the Head Girl, Palak Tomar, proposing the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, participants, and organisers, thereby bringing the celebration to a close.
