Dehradun, 27 Jan: In relation to the birthday of Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi (31 January), a felicitation ceremony for Anganwadi workers and helpers of the Mussoorie Assembly constituency was organised today at the camp office in Hathibadkala under the “Seva Saptah”, dedicated to the spirit of public service.
Present was Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ritu Bhushan Khanduri, and Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi as chief guests, who honoured the Anganwadi workers and helpers for their dedicated service.
Addressing the gathering, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in delivering the benefits of government schemes to people at the last mile of society. He described their dedication and spirit of service as commendable. He stated that Anganwadi workers form the foundation of society and, with commitment and devotion, play an important role in the fields of maternal and child welfare, nutrition, and early childhood education. He emphasised that the work of Anganwadi workers is not merely a responsibility, but a service towards society and nation-building. He added that along with ensuring the holistic development of children, Anganwadi workers are also strengthening women empowerment.
On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri said that every effort made by women power contributes positively to the welfare of society. She stated that Anganwadi and ASHAs, as the first teachers of children, play a vital role in shaping the future generation of the country. Describing Anganwadi workers as the backbone of society, she said that social development is incomplete without them. She urged Anganwadi workers to actively contribute not only to education but also to inculcating good values, moral principles, and a sense of social responsibility among children. She praised their significant contribution in the areas of maternal and child health, nutrition, and early education, and added that the government is continuously taking steps in the interest of Anganwadi workers and remains committed to their dignity, safety, and welfare in the future as well.
From 25 January to 31 January, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi’s birthday is being observed as “Seva Saptah” across various areas of the Mussoorie Assembly constituency, during which several service-oriented activities are being carried out.
On the occasion, BJP’s Neha Joshi, Nirmala Joshi, Mandal President Pradeep Rawat, Mandal President Rajiv Gurung, Vandana Bisht, Sandhya Thapa, Jyoti Kotiya, Poonam Nautiyal, Laxman Singh Rawat, Sameer Dobhal, Nirmala Thapa, Anita Saxena, Bhavana Chaudhary, along with a large number of Anganwadi workers and helpers, were also present.
