The survey is being conducted through the socio-economic unit of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India and it marks the first occasion on which the Government of Uttarakhand is undertaking the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) across all districts of the state.
While the Government of India has been conducting the PLFS regularly since 2017, Uttarakhand has undertaken this survey at the state level for the first time in both rural and urban areas.
