Dehradun, 1 Feb: State Minister of Tourism, Public Works, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, Rural Construction, Watershed Management, Religious Affairs, and Culture, Satpal Maharaj has described the Union Budget 2026–27 presented in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as one that fulfils the Modi Government’s resolve of a Developed India by 2047, and termed it extremely important for Uttarakhand from the perspective of tourism development.
The State Minister stated on Sunday that the Rs 53.5 lakh crore Union Budget 2026–27 presented by the Union Finance Minister is highly significant for the welfare of the poor, farmers, healthcare, education, women, and the overall development of the country. He said that several major and ambitious proposals have been announced in the budget to promote tourism in Uttarakhand. The budget is expected to provide a major boost to development in the fields of tourism, healthcare, and infrastructure in the state. These budget announcements are likely to directly benefit both the citizens of the state and the local economy.
