Dehradun, 10 Feb: The 7th Patrician Brothers’ Inter-house GK Quiz 2026 was conducted on Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m. in the SJA Auditorium here which saw enthusiastic participation from students representing the four houses; Duffy, Donovan, Dooley, and Bergin. The competition aimed at nurturing awareness, critical thinking, and healthy competition among students.
Present were Principal, SJA, Brother Joseph M Joseph, and Community Leader, Brother Astinus Kujur, whose encouragement and guidance added dignity and inspiration to the occasion.
The programme commenced with a warm introduction to the quiz, followed by a solemn prayer, setting an atmosphere of discipline and purpose. Each team from Duffy House, Donovan House, Dooley House, and Bergin House exuded confidence, preparation, and team spirit. The quiz itself was conducted over an engaging and thought-provoking eight rounds that tested the participants’ knowledge across diverse fields like The Current World, Science and Technology, Art and Culture, Literature, Business and Logos. The audience remained captivated as teams battled out with quick thinking, accuracy, and presence of mind, the questions put up by the Quiz Masters, Navneet Ganguly, Rachna Gulati and Sonal Uniyal. A short motivational and fun quiz video added a refreshing pause, keeping the energy levels high.
The competition witnessed an exciting twist as Duffy, Dooley and Donovan Houses equalled the score in the initial round, only for the momentum to dramatically shift in the later stages. The reversal of fortunes kept the audience on edge and underscored the unpredictability of the contest. Following a keenly contested quiz and the judicious evaluation by Gaurav Gupta, Sheetal Bist, and Raman Sethi, the results were announced amid eager anticipation.
The winning house was Donavan House represented by Anubhav Sajwan, Amogh Rai and Shatakshi Sharma, followed by Dooley House as the runner-up, earning loud applause from the audience. Trophies and accolades were awarded to the deserving teams.
In his concluding address, Brother Joseph appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm and emphasised the importance of strengthening general knowledge and cultivating a regular reading habit beyond textbooks. This was followed by the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organisers, quizmasters, participants, and staff. The programme concluded with the School Song, marking a fitting end to an intellectually enriching event.
