Mussoorie, 15 Mar: The weather in Mussoorie took a turn once again following late-evening rainfall on Saturday. The rain led to a drop in temperature, intensifying the chill across the city and prompting residents to reach for their warm clothing. While this rainfall in the month of March has brought back the cold, it has also brought visible smiles to the faces of farmers. Local cultivators noted that, due to a prolonged dry spell, concerns regarding potential crop damage had been mounting. Consequently, this timely rainfall is expected to boost crop growth and lead to improved yields. This shift in weather patterns is also anticipated to have a positive impact on the tourism industry. Every year, a large number of tourists flock to Mussoorie to revel in its cool and pleasant climate. With temperatures in the plains already beginning to rise, tourists are expected to turn their gaze towards Mussoorie once again.
Stakeholders in the tourism sector believe that the cooler weather brought about by the rain will likely lead to increased activity in hotels, restaurants, and other tourism-related businesses in the coming days. In particular, a large influx of tourists—both domestic and international—is expected during weekends and holidays. While this sudden change in weather has heightened the sense of cold on one hand, it has simultaneously kindled a new ray of hope for both farmers and tourism entrepreneurs on the other.
