The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to remain unsettled on Tuesday (May 5) as well. The Meteorological Centre has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for parts of several districts—including Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar—warning of heavy thunderstorms, rainfall, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.
A ‘Yellow Alert’ has also been issued for certain areas of other districts, indicating the likelihood of spells of heavy rain and hailstorms. Meanwhile, snowfall is also anticipated in high-altitude regions (at 3,500 meters and above), which could lead to a drop in temperatures. Meteorologists have advised the public to remain vigilant and to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
