PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun/Haldwani At least six persons died in separate incidents following heavy rain in Uttarakhand since Monday night. Three people died after a house collapsed in Almora district, two people died after a car carrying three people was swept away in Dehradun and one person died in a mishap in Bageshwar. In the Dehradun incident, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel rescued an injured woman, while in Almora, the bodies of three family members were recovered from the debris. In Almora, a house collapsed in Vadyuda village under Someshwar police station early on Tuesday morning. The SDRF said that they reached the area after receiving information that people could be trapped under the debris. The road leading to the village was blocked by debris, forcing the rescuers to walk nearly three kilometres while carrying rescue equipment. In Dehradun, a vehicle was swept away near Kandoli bridge on Paundha Road in Lower Kandoli under the Premnagar police station area. The vehicle had one man and two women inside. The SDRF said that a team from Dakpatthar reached the spot after receiving information. “During the search, an injured woman, identified as Sahaj, daughter of Gulshan Baveja, was found nearly two kilometres from the accident site. She was rescued and handed over to the police. The bodies of Akshay, 20, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan and another woman were also recovered, SDRF said. In Bageshwar, a car fell into a deep gorge after going out of control near Tharan in Simkuna under Kanda police station area. One youth died in the accident, while another was seriously injured. Police said the car went out of control and fell into the gorge on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Shankar Singh, while the injured person was identified as Rahul.
