Dehradun, 1 Sep: Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), on Monday felicitated 22 distinguished personalities for their notable contributions in various fields at the ‘Bharat Gaurav Awards’ ceremony organised by the Bharat Gaurav Award Foundation at a hotel on Rajpur Road.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that honouring individuals who have made outstanding contributions in different fields strengthens the culture of excellence and meaningful work in society. He appreciated the efforts of the Bharat Gaurav Award Foundation, which has been recognising and honouring individuals for their notable contributions across various sectors of the country since 2017.
Lt Gen Singh said that an individual’s achievement is not limited to personal success. When a person’s talent brings about positive change in society and contributes to the progress of the nation, that achievement becomes an achievement of the entire country. He said that today, the youth of India are demonstrating their talent and capabilities in diverse fields, including science, technology, research, sports, startups, industry, art and social service. The increasing participation of women and daughters is also presenting a picture of an empowered and self-reliant India.
Congratulating the award recipients, the Governor said that the honour is not only recognition of their achievements but also a responsibility to strive for even greater accomplishments in the future. He said that discipline, continuous hard work, a willingness to learn and the determination to remain focused on one’s goals amid challenges are crucial behind every success.
He said that the true significance of achievements is enhanced when their benefits reach the last person in society. He called upon the awardees to share their experiences with the next generation, guide young people and create opportunities and hope in the lives of those in need.
The Governor said that building a developed India would require not merely resources, but talented, responsible and principled citizens. The nation’s achievers must connect their abilities and accomplishments with the progress of society and the nation and contribute to nation-building.
On the occasion, the Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the award recipients and wished them a bright future. He also congratulated the office-bearers and the selection committee of the Bharat Gaurav Award Foundation for organising this inspiring event to encourage and recognise talent.
