
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the role of youth will be crucial in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He was addressing the ‘ Yuva Sankalp Diwas’ programme organised at Rangers Ground on Wednesday. The programme was organised to celebrate the birthday of CM Dhami. Expressing gratitude to youth for celebrating his birthday, the CM said that the energy, enthusiasm and determination of the youth constantly provide him with new energy. He said that the youth of Uttarakhand are hardworking, talented, disciplined and capable of facing challenges. The CM added that providing the right direction, better opportunities and a transparent environment to the youth is a priority of the State government. The government is continuously working towards providing new opportunities for the youth in every field, from education to skills, employment to self-employment and start-ups to sports. He said that the government’s effort is to ensure that the youth of the State are not forced to leave their homes, villages and the State to fulfil their dreams. Dhami claimed that the State government is paying special attention to equipping youth with modern skills suited to future needs. “New self-employment opportunities are also being created through tourism, homestays, and local products. To promote industrial development and local employment in mountainous regions, a decision has been made to develop special industrial zones in the districts of Chamoli, Pauri and Almora,’’ he said. He averred that the setting up of the State Youth Commission is an important step toward integrating the hopes and aspirations of youth into policymaking. The CM said after successful hosting of the 38th National Games Uttarakhand has gained a new identity as Khel Bhoomi. He said that strict anti-copying laws have been implemented in the State to make recruitment processes transparent and protect the future of hardworking youth. The government is committed to ensuring that no youth’s years of hard work, their dreams and their rights are disregarded. Expressing concern over the growing drug addiction among youth, the CM said that addiction not only weakens the body but also affects a person’s dreams and future. On his birthday, Dhami asked the youth to make three resolutions. He urged them to first set a goal in life and then work hard to achieve it. He also asked youth to stay away from drugs and encourage their friends to do the same. Cabinet ministers Khajan Das and Ganesh Joshi, State President of Mahendra Bhatt, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Vinod Chamoli, Savita Kapoor and Brijbhushan Gairola, Mayor Dehradun Surabh Thapliyal and others attended the programme.
