PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Jyotirmath Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Badrinath Dham on Sunday and paid obeisance to the lord while offering rituals for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the State. After this, the CM conducted a site inspection of various construction and development works being carried out under the Badrinath masterplan. He took stock of other ongoing works including the Astha Path and enquired about the progress of the works from the officials concerned. Dhami instructed the officials to complete the construction work in a timely manner while maintaining quality as per the prescribed standards. He said that during the works, special attention should be paid to the convenience of the devotees as well as the religious, spiritual and traditional dignity of the Dham. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is progressing rapidly to give Badrinath Dham a grand, divine and well-organised form befitting its religious and historical significance. The facilities being developed under the master plan will provide better amenities to the devotees visiting the Dham. He said that special attention should be paid to preserving the Dham’s traditional identity, natural beauty, and spiritual form in development projects. The CM later participated in the ‘Badrinath Dham Katha Mahotsav’ organised by Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan. More than 150 ascetics from different parts of the country and more than 1,200 devotees participated in the festival. Addressing the gathering, he said that under PM Modi’s leadership, continuous work is being done to preserve and promote the country’s ancient heritage, eternal culture and centers of faith. Facilities for devotees are also being expanded at Uttarakhand’s major pilgrimage sites, and their religious and cultural identity is being further strengthened, he said. He recalled that PM Modi had declared in Kedarnath the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. The State government is working with full commitment to realise this resolution. The government is striving to develop the pilgrimage sites in a systematic manner, tailored to the convenience of devotees, while also maintaining their spiritual and cultural dignity, Dhami added.
