Srinagar Garhwal, 22 Sep: The Department of Rural Technology under the School of Agriculture and Allied Sciences at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, in collaboration with MANAGE–Centre for Innovation and Agri-Entrepreneurship (MANAGE–CIA), Hyderabad, will organise an ‘Agri-Startup Stakeholders Connect’ on 23 September.
The programme aims to address existing gaps in the agricultural startup ecosystem and create opportunities for partnerships and collaboration among various stakeholders.
Through the programme, an effort will be made to bring together startup policy makers, researchers, investors, and representatives from the industry on a common platform to promote collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
Around 300 participants are expected to attend the event, including agricultural development administrators, policy makers, government officials, representatives of incubation and innovation centres, entrepreneurs, researchers, academic institutions, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), agribusiness firms, banks, venture capitalists, startup advisors, students, rural youth, and government organisations associated with the agricultural startup ecosystem.
The University’s Incubation Centre (IDIC) and various departments of the School of Agriculture are supporting entrepreneurship promotion as well as the commercialisation of startups and technologies.
The programme will feature interactive workshops, networking opportunities, knowledge-sharing sessions, discussions, and product exhibitions showcasing advanced agricultural technologies and innovative business models.
According to the programme coordinator, Prof RS Negi, Dean, Agriculture and Allied Sciences, the initiative will help establish stronger linkages among research institutions, startups, and investors while promoting sustainable development in the agribusiness sector.
The programme will be organised under the guidance of Prof Shree Prakash Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Garhwal University; Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Higher Education Minister, Government of Uttarakhand; Subhash Chandra Negi, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Chairman, Central Training Centre, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Srinagar Garhwal; Dr Sarpan Raj, Director, MANAGE, Hyderabad; and the Department of Rural Technology, School of Agriculture.
