Dehradun, 17 Dec: Chief Development Officer, Dehradun, Abhinav Shah today announced the launch of the “Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar” (People’s Government at People’s Doorsteps) campaign in Dehradun district, in line with directives from the state government secretary. This initiative entails organising multipurpose camps at Nyaya Panchayat and Gram Panchayat levels to disseminate information on various Central and state government welfare schemes, ensure eligible individuals receive their benefits, and provide prompt redressal of public grievances. The campaign began today and will run for the next 45 days, with multipurpose camps scheduled in the Nyaya Panchayats of every tehsil for at least two to three working days each week.
In respect of District Dehradun, Shah has issued strict instructions to multiple departments mandating their presence at these camps. These departments encompass the Revenue Department, Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Social Welfare Department, Soldier Welfare Department, Women Empowerment and Child Development Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Home Department, Labour Department, Medical Health and Family Welfare Department, Ayush Department, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Department, Energy Department, Cooperative Department, Public Works Department/PMGSY, Education Department, Drinking Water Department, Irrigation Department, Forest Department, Skill Development and Employment Department, Disaster Management Department at district and tehsil levels, as well as representatives from banking and financial institutions.
The CDO has directed that camp attendees receive comprehensive details on government schemes, with eligible persons granted benefits on the spot. Officials will strive to resolve public issues right at the multipurpose camps themselves. After each camp, joint visits to nearby villages will follow to help eligible individuals complete application forms, ensuring no deserving person misses out on benefits. Prior to the camps, surveys will cover all Gram Panchayats and revenue villages within the relevant Nyaya Panchayat to pre-process applications for beneficiaries, facilitating full saturation of benefits on the camp day.
Block Development Officers have been assigned to appoint Assistant Nodal Officers for Nyaya Panchayats and Nodal Officers or suitable personnel for each Gram Panchayat. Block Development Officers and concerned Tehsildars will also ensure widespread publicity of the programme across every Gram Panchayat. Data collection at the block level falls under the purview of respective Block Development Officers, while the District Development Officer in Dehradun will compile it at the district level. The District Social Welfare Officer, Dehradun, bears responsibility for all arrangements to guarantee the smooth execution of these multipurpose camps.
