PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun Ahead of the Monsoon session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri at her residence in Dehradun on Saturday. Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal accompanied the CM during the visit. In the meeting, discussions on the preparations of the Monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha were held. The Monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha will commence at Bharadisain, Gairsain in Chamoli district on August 19. The Vidhan Sabha secretariat has made all the preparations for the Monsoon session in Bharadisain. The secretariat has received more than 600 questions from the members for the session. Apart from tabling many important bills, the Dhami government will table a supplementary budget during the session. Recently, CM Dhami had handed over the responsibility of parliamentary affairs to Forest minister Uniyal who would now defend the government and face the onslaught of the opposition during the Monsoon session. Earlier this responsibility was on former cabinet minister Premchand Agarwal. However, smooth holding of the session will be challenging for the State administration because it is being held during the peak of the Monsoon session. The Vidhan Sabha building at Bharadisain is located at an elevation of more than 7,800 feet above the mean sea level and maintaining smooth road connectivity in the rainy season will be the biggest challenge for the authorities. The roads connecting to Bharadisain pass through high mountains and many slide-zones become active during the monsoons in the roads and highways linking Gairsain to Dehradun and other parts of the State.
