Monday, 14 OCTOBER 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN The construction of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) satellite centre at Khurpia Farm in Kichha is expected to be completed by 2025. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the site on Sunday and was informed by officials of the executing agency and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) engineers that the construction of the boundary wall is nearly complete while other works are also progressing. Officials informed the CM that AIIMS Kichha will be a 280-bed pre-fabricated hospital built on 100 acre land at a cost of Rs 351 crore according to the standards of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The centre will include the latest facilities in ICU, OPD, IPD, nursing hostel, residential building and other facilities. The manager of the executing agency informed that the construction of the boundary wall is nearly complete while other works are also being executed at a swift pace. Along with tree plantation on the roadsides, proper drainage arrangements are also being made. The construction of this centre will be completed by 2025, the officials said. During the inspection, Dhami also interacted with the construction workers and learnt about their problems. The workers expressed satisfaction at the conditions. The CM said that opening of the AIIMS satellite centre at Kichha will provide all necessary medical facilities under one roof, due to which the patients in the region will not have to travel further for treatment. Stating that this is a boon for the region, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development. MP Ajay Bhatt, MLAs Shiv Arora, Tilak Raj Behad, other public representatives and officials were also present on the occasion.
