PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that Uttarakhand has not only made substantial economic progress but has also reinforced its cultural, spiritual and social identity. He said this while extending New Year 2026 greetings to all the State’s residents, wishing them happiness, peace and prosperity. He said that Uttarakhand’s development journey thus far has been filled with achievements. “The idea of overall and balanced development has been central to the State movement. To realise this vision, a commendable initiative has been undertaken to write a new chapter of development characterised by transparency, public participation and a renewed work culture,” he added. He emphasised that alongside the efforts for the economic development of the State, innovative and far-reaching initiatives in promising sectors such as nature and culture conservation, tourism, agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry have given Uttarakhand a distinct identity in the country. “By internalising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas,’ our government has prioritised public service. Continuous efforts have been made to ensure that government schemes reach every individual. Transparent administration, strict action against corruption and prompt decision-making form the foundation of our government’s approach,” he stated. Dhami pointed out that through historic decisions such as the Uniform Civil Code, robust land laws, anti-copying law and legislation against conversion, the State has strengthened justice, discipline, transparency and social harmony. “New dimensions have been added in the fields of health, education, employment and infrastructure. The government has not only determined the direction and condition of planned development in line with public expectations but has also exceeded expectations in implementing programmes related to State interests in multiple areas. The effective execution of development schemes and innovations has garnered recognition from NITI Aayog, resulting in the State achieving the first position in the Sustainable Development Index,” he asserted. He also highlighted that the hosting of the National Games has provided the State with a new identity in the realm of sports on the national stage. “Additionally, Uttarakhand has made significant strides in investment and industry. It is our constant endeavour to lead Uttarakhand further on the path of progress in the coming years,” he said. He urged all residents to actively participate in the State’s development.
