
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 178 newly appointed officers of different departments of State government in a programme organised at his residence on Thursday. Appointment letters were given to 117 candidates from the department of economics and statistics, 12 from the Agriculture, 30 from the Horticulture department and 19 from the department of Women Empowerment and Child Development. Speaking on the occasion, the CM congratulated the newly appointed candidates and expressed confidence that all of them will play an important role in fulfilling the resolve of making Uttarakhand developed, self-reliant and one of the leading states of the country by discharging their responsibilities with honesty, loyalty and dedication. He said that quality and reliable data is the basis for effective planning, implementation and evaluation of schemes. Dhami said that in the last four and half years more than 26,500 youngsters of the State were provided government jobs through a transparent process which is more than double the number achieved during the tenure of previous governments since the formation of the State. The CM said that the government has taken action on the cheating mafia and has implemented a strict anti-copying act. He said that new employment opportunities have been created in the State through the schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana, start up and entrepreneurship policy, new tourism policy, agriculture and horticulture policies and home stays. Head of Kalki Dham Acharya Pramod Krishnam, cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi and Rekha Arya, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Bharat Chaudhary and Savita Kapoor, vice chairman of 20 point programme and implementation committee Jyoti Prasad Gairola, principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and others attended the programme.
