
PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the administration and Forest department to increase vigilance and patrolling in areas affected by the menace of wild animals. Taking cognizance of the cases of bear attack near some schools of Pokhri block in Chamoli district, the CM directed that additional security arrangements should be made near the schools and Anganwadi centres. On a stern note, the CM said that necessary and effective steps should be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. He also directed that the injured student in the bear attack should be provided with appropriate medical care and that the victim’s family be provided with all possible assistance. On Tuesday, the CM had a telephonic conversation with the student injured in the bear attack. He enquired about his well-being and wished him a speedy recovery. He said that the State government stands firmly with the victim’s family in this difficult hour and no shortage will be allowed at every level of treatment and security. He also interacted with Divya and Deepika, the brave girls who displayed indomitable courage, presence of mind and human sensitivity during the incident. Praising the students’ bravery, the CM said that the courage, patience and responsibility they displayed at such a young age is a matter of pride and inspiration for the entire state. Encouraging the students, he wished them a bright future and assured them that the State government would always encourage such courageous children. The CM averred that the safety of children is the top priority for the State government and the government.
