Friday, 29 March 2024 | my uttarakhand news | DEHRADUN The Bharatiya Janata Party has received more than 70,000 suggestions and messages for its Lok Sabha election manifesto from across Uttarakhand. Most of these suggestions pertain to subjects under the purview of the State government while many of them are regarding the Centre. The State convenor of the party’s State manifesto collection committee and BJP Haridwar candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the useful suggestions will contribute towards formation of the party’s manifesto for achieving a Viksit Bharat. Addressing the media here on Thursday before despatching the suggestions to the party’s central leadership, Rawat said that the party was expecting about 500 to 700 suggestions from each Vidhan Sabha constituency. “Beyond our expectations, we received an average of 1,000 suggestions from each Vidhan Sabha constituency. In addition to this, we also received suggestions through various other media. I too received suggestions from the public and even questions like ‘how can we contribute to ensure that PM Modi is re-elected’ and simply ‘convey our Jai Shri Ram to Modi’. The overwhelming response we received substantiates our expectation. The people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP,” he said. Referring to the suggestions, he said that people from various spheres of society including farmers, women, industrialists, youth, doctors, lawyers, labourers and others had submitted their suggestions. The public have suggested action on issues including development, employee welfare, women and youth welfare. He said, “About 60 per cent of the suggestions we received are related to the State government while about 40 per cent are related to the Central government. The Centre takes decisions based on policies. We will send the useful suggestions to our central leadership while those pertaining to the State government will be sent to the Uttarakhand government. The BJP government is in office here and it will definitely consider the useful and practical suggestions received from the public. The people of Uttarakhand have always been aware of the environment and many of the suggestions we received are related to the environment and its conservation along with agriculture and land resources.” The BJP State election management committee convenor and Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal said that the manner in which the people have responded to the BJP in giving their suggestions for its election manifesto proves that the people are with the party and PM Modi.
