PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun Within two days of administering the oath of office to five MLAs before inducting them into the cabinet, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affected a reallocation of portfolios among cabinet ministers on Sunday. According to the list of portfolios issued on Sunday, Dhami has retained most of the departments he has been handling so far while the responsibility of some departments has been shifted from his cabinet colleagues Dhan Singh Rawat, Satpal Maharaj and Ganesh Joshi. The CM has retained departments including Personnel and Vigilance, Home, Secretariat Administration, Planning, State Estate, Information, Prisons, Civil Defence and Home Guard, Revenue, Industrial Development (Mining), Labour, Drinking Water, Energy and Alternative Energy, Excise, Justice, Civil Aviation, Finance and Council of Ministers. Senior minister Satpal Maharaj will continue to handle Public Works,  Department (PWD), Rural Construction, Culture, Tourism, Irrigation, Minor Irrigation and General Administration while Panchayati Raj and Watershed Management have been shifted away from him. Ganesh Joshi has retained Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Agricultural Education and Marketing, Horticulture and Food Processing, Sericulture Development and Soldier Welfare while he has been relieved of Rural Development. Similarly, Dhan Singh Rawat has retained Basic and Secondary School Education, Sanskrit Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Cooperatives while being relieved of Medical Health and Family Welfare. Subodh Uniyal has retained Forest, Election, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs while also being given Medical Health and Medical Education. Rekha Arya will continue to handle Women Empowerment and Child Development, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Sports and Youth Welfare. Similarly, Saurabh Bahuguna will continue to handle Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Protocol along with Skill Development and Employment. Former cabinet minister Khajan Dass has been assigned Social Welfare, Minority Welfare, Student Welfare and Language. Bharat Singh Chaudhary has been assigned Rural Development, MSME, and Khadi and Village Industries. MLA from Haridwar and former cabinet minister Madan Kaushik has been assigned Panchayati Raj, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation, AYUSH and AYUSH Education, Reorganisation and Census. Another new inductee Pradeep Batra has been assigned Transport, Information Technology and Good governance, Science and Technology, and Biotechnology.Ram Singh Kaira has been allocated Urban Development, Environment Protection and Climate Change, and Watershed Management.
