Dehradun, 5 Aug: The Centre has responded positively to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s proposal for establishing separate regional and district offices of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Uttarakhand. Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who also holds charge of Youth Affairs and Sports, conveyed in a letter written to the CM that the suggestions have been taken seriously and will be examined in line with EPFO’s existing norms and policies.
Mandaviya stated that decisions on setting up or upgrading EPFO offices are based on workload, jurisdiction, employee strength, administrative requirements and service delivery needs. He added that rationalisation of offices has also been undertaken in recent years to balance workload and improve efficiency.
Dhami observed that expansion of EPFO facilities in the state is essential to provide better and easier services to employees, pensioners and industrial establishments. He expressed confidence that the Centre will take a favourable decision keeping in view the interests of Uttarakhand.
